Session Title: A day in the life of TechTown

Come learn more about the great programs offered by TechTown Detroit where tech is in our name and community is in our heart. In the last eight years, TechTown has served nearly 1600 companies who created more than 1200 jobs and raised more than $120 million in capital. More than half of the organization’s clients are non-white, women and over the age of 50. SWOT City clients are 94% African American and 40% women.

Session Title: Great Things Start with Build!

Ever had dreams of owning your own business? Have a hobby or passion project you would like to monetize? Interested in learning more about Detroit's entrepreneurial environment? Join this workshop at our offices in Southwest Detroit and learn the answers to these questions and more. We will walk you through the past 4 years of Build Institute from its incubation within D:hive to our recent rapid growth. We will discuss how Build is driving equitable entrepreneurship in Detroit, what that means for the city and how our graduates are making a positive impact in the region. We'll also give you a sneak peek of a new program we're launching in 2016 that will provide you with the tools to fine-tune your idea and create a sustainable venture.

Session Title: Techstars Mobility, driven by Detroit - Overview

Please join us to learn all about the Techstars Mobility program in Detroit. Managing Director, Ted Serbinski, will share information about the accelerator, what happened in 2015 and what to expect in 2016. We'll talk all things Mobility and how Techstars is shaping startup ecosystems worldwide. 

Session Title: Entrepreneurial Lessons from Detroit

Participate in a fun, engaging conversation about why entrepreneurship in Detroit is vital to the future of the city. We'll share a brief synoposis of Detroit's "history of Doers" and discover what key lessons we can take from it in order to keep Detroit moving forward as an urban center of entrepreneurial innovation.

Join co-founder, Phillip Cooley, as he gives an overview on Ponyride, talks about the companies that started there and how Ponyride is playing an integral part of the Detroit ecosystem.
