Session Title: This is Your Museum - Visitors and the DIA Exhibition Development Process

 In this interactive session, discover how the DIA incorporates visitors’ voices and perspectives into the stories we tell about our collection and our special exhibitions. Hear from members of the DIA’s award-winning interpretation team, who will offer a behind-the-scenes view into how everyday people transform museum work.

Special Instructions for Attendees: Please enjoy complimentary parking in the DIA’s main parking lot off of John R. Street. Inform the attendant that you are with the NewCo Group to gain access. Enter the museum through the entrance on John R. Street and staff inside the museum will help direct you to Kresge Court. The café in Kresge Court opens at 9am should you wish to purchase a refreshment to enjoy during the session.

Session Title: Experience Why Your Turntable's Not Dead

Guests will be treated to a unique perspective of our highly curated retail space which includes one of a kind novelties, charming token booths, a stage that hosts live musical performances, art-house films and spoken word sessions. Next, our cozy Book Nook Lounge awaits where you can relax with coffee and enjoy our library at your leisure. The tour wouldn’t be complete without a first look into our vinyl pressing plant which will provide records for our beloved artists and friends of Third Man. 


Special Instructions from Host Company to Attendees:  Guests can park in our metered parking sections on the street.  There is limited free parking in the alley just West of Cass Corridor Ave.  They can come through our front door and help themselves to our complimentary coffee at our charging station where they can charge their devices if needed as well.

Session Title: Catering To The Creativity In You


We will be displaying a extremely unique graphic arts and fine arts collection of Detroit area artists works. Along with all of the above we have for sale: graphic and fine works of art, gee clays/prints, greeting cards, Detroit centered swag, hand crafted jewelry and wood works by Sit On It Detroit. We are located in the historic, beautifully restored Sugar Hill Building in Midtown Detroit.

Our guests will take part in a unique art experience. During our presentation we will explain the importance of branding and give you some great tips on how to brand yourself and/or your company. There will be light refreshment served.

Session Title: It's an Artist's World

Augusta Morrison, Education Associate at MOCAD, will lead a one hour tour showing attendees four brand new exhibitions by artists Chloë Brown, Ragnar Kjartansson, Steve Shaw and Dave Eggers. After the tour, stay for an insightful and meaningful discussion on the importance of arts in our culture and the positive contributions it has made to society.


Special Instructions from Host Company to Attendees:  Our parking lot is located off of Garfield St. We recommend taking John R to Garfield. If you are traveling from I-75 northbound take the exit at Mack Ave. to John R north. If you are traveling southbound on I-75, take the Warren exit west to John R south. Visitors traveling from the M-10 Lodge Freeway take the Forest Ave exit east to John R south. Please call the Museum at 313.832.6622 if you need further assistance
