8:30am: Pre-festival meet-up @ Ashe Supply Co @ 1555 Broadway St, Detroit
We’ll start the day by fuelling up before we head out to our first session. We'll head out from Ashe at 9am.
9:30am TechTown Detroit
TechTown Detroit is the city’s most established business accelerator and incubator. Between 2007 and 2014, the organization served 1,026 companies, which raised over $107.26 million in start-up capital and contributed 1,190 jobs to the local economy. Join Paul Riser, Managing Director, as he gives insight into “A day in the life of TechTown”.

Detroit Venture partners puts passion first, supporting forward thinking organizations through investment, mentorship, and grit. Engage the incubated firsthand and hear how they’re growing the valuable lessons gleaned from Detroit Venture Partners’ support into successful, grassroot enterprises.

1:30pm Third Man Records
Third Man Records is an innovator in the world of vinyl records, often pushing the boundaries throughout the world of recorded music, aiming to bring tangibility and spontaneity back into the record business. You’ll be treated to a unique perspective of their highly curated retail space and get a first look into their Vinyl Pressing Plant.
3:00pm Shinola
Founded in Detroit in 2011, the company’s initial focus was watches and leather goods. Join a hands on tour of their watch and leather factory and hear from Jonathan Hughes, CFO, on how Shinola supports sustainability, craftsmanship, and design with their belief that products should be made by hand and built to last.
4:30pm Michigan Urban Farming
The Michigan Urban Farming Initiative is a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization based in Detroit’s North End community that contributes to Detroit’s growth by engaging members of the Michigan community in sustainable agriculture. Discuss with Tyson Gersh, Co-Founder & President, green infrastructure and its role in modern urban development frameworks.
